The crown at the far end of the Gastein Valley reaching 8,600ft. There’s not much here — a car park, one restaurant and a single lift to a freerider’s nirvana.

GULMARG, INDIA

A couple of cable-cars reach the incredible height of 15,000ft. Stayed a month in my twenties — snow leopards, monkeys and views of K2. Utterly magical!
