Florence Kagiso

Over the past 12 months, our content has championed those innovators working tirelessly to make the travel landscape more accessible, sustainable and diverse. When Botswana-based Florence became one of Africa’s first female guides in 2004, she laid the ground for a new generation of women to follow in her footsteps. Florence currently works at Chobe Game Lodge with an allfemale safari guide team — aŠectionately known as Chobe’s Angels — that have helped travellers explore the wilds of Botswana’s northeastern corner and, in so doing, shiŒed the role of women working in the region’s safari industry. Her story and dedication have inspired you, too.
