Time for change?

Reading your Travelling with Pride article (April 2021) really hit home, bringing back the many awkward encounters at check-in during a trip to Sri Lanka with my partner. The country is stunning and one of the most rewarding holidays we’ve been on, but members of the LGBTQ+ community aren’t always accepted. I fully agree that by not discounting countries whose laws exclude our community, we can potentially bring about slow change and enjoy wonderful cultures in the process. While this is a change that needs to happen at government level, maybe the image of a same-sex couple walking around may have a positive effect on those around us. We really are no different after all.
