Aisleyne Horgan-wallace on finding love and why she put her fostering dream on hold

- KARMEL Doughty

Glamour model Aisleyne Horgan-wallace is no stranger to baring all for the camera. The Big Brother 2006 star frequently appeared topless in lads’ mags in the mid noughties before taking time out of the limelight to focus on building her property empire, which is now worth £4.4 million. Since turning 40 last December, Aisleyne tells us she’s discovered a newfound self-confidence.

“In my twenties, I didn’t know myself, but now I really do. I accept myself and I’m happy,” she says when we sit down for a chat.

It’s nice to see Aisleyne smiling. In 2017, she revealed the tragic news that she delivered a stillborn baby at the age of 23, which she admitted left her feeling “suicidal”. She also spoke about suffering three miscarriages. To add to her heartache, doctors have told her she has a rhesus negative blood type, which could impact her chances of carrying a baby full term.

But while she still hopes to have a baby, Aisleyne received some good news last year when her application to become a foster parent was accepted.

However, after three armed robbers stormed her home in March 2018 demanding jewellery and cash, she was forced to put the brakes on fostering. “It wasn’t a safe environment,” she admits.

Fortunately, Aisleyne is now living in a gated community and her multimillion pound business empire is thriving after she opened her first nightclub, The Hatch Club, in New Cross, south-east London, four months ago.

Here, Aisleyne opens up to us about her new man, her longing for motherhood and her biggest surgery regret…

You look great Aisleyne! What’s your secret to staying in shape?

Thank you, babe. Everything in moderation and don’t diet to the extreme. I don’t weigh myself, but I’m a size 10. I exercise four times a week. I’m not like Jennifer Aniston who works out twice a day. Have you noticed any changes to your body since hitting 40?

I’m starting to get that nan arm at the top. No matter what I do training-wise, it’s not getting rid of it.

Do you worry about ageing?

I’m not going to lie and say wrinkles don’t upset me. Of course they do, otherwise I wouldn’t get Botox. But I’m proud to be 40.

Some people have accused you of having surgery on your bum. Have you?

I’ve had no surgery on my bum, but I was tempted because I live in an Instagram world. I asked a few exes if I should, but they were like, “Hell no.” I do lots of squats and deadlifts.

What surgery have you had done?

I’ve had lip fillers, Botox and eyelid laser surgery. And I’ve had my boobs done twice. I’m about to get them done again.

Do you regret any of your procedures?

I had a dip in my chin, so I had filler administrated by a beautician once. She took a picture but worked from the picture and not by human eye, so she ended up putting filler in the wrong side of my chin, making the bigger side even bigger. It was horrific!

How awful! Are you dating at the moment?

There is someone. Ooh! How long have you been seeing him?

Seven months, which is a long run for me.

Is he in the public eye?

No he’s not. I prefer that.

How does he cope with your fame?

Oh, he’s so good. He’s confident in himself and he’s cool with me posting naked pics on Instagram.

He tells me I’m beautiful and says

I should embrace it.

He sounds like a keeper!

He is. He’s got such a good balance.

Is he older or a toyboy?

He’s younger. I don’t want to say how old [laughs]. Let’s just say I’m a cougar.

Are you still in touch with your famous ex, Mike Tyson?

I can’t answer that, because people would say my boyfriend wouldn’t be very happy [laughs].

You famously fell out with Helen Wood during your stint on Big Brother in 2015.

What do you think about her talking about her threesome with Wayne Rooney in her new autobiography?

It’s absolutely despicable. He f***ed up and I’m not excusing it, but there are children involved so just leave it alone. She’s like a vile case of herpes – she keeps coming back. I cannot stand the creature.

When was the last time you saw her?

Oh babe, the last hellish day of my life in the Big Brother house.

In the house she said she could read you like a book…

She can’t f***ing read. Excuse my French. I wouldn’t even use her autobiography as toilet roll.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I’d love to see myself with another couple of

businesses under my belt, but my ultimate dream is to have a little bubba.

Would you like to get married?

The marriage part has never bothered me. I just want a big ring [laughs].

You’ve been open about your struggle to carry a baby. How did you cope with your miscarriages and a stillbirth seven months into a pregnancy?

I don’t know. It’s a long, hard process and you think you’re over it but then you walk down the baby aisle and it wrenches at your heartstrings. Even now I’m tearing up. My counsellor asked me if I’d ever thought there might have been something wrong with the babies and that’s why

I lost them. So that and different techniques have helped.

You’re brave talking about it…

I’ve sought comfort through other women who have had miscarriages or have the same blood group as me.

Do you still hope to have a baby one day?

Yeah, of course, but I don’t let myself go there too much because what if it doesn’t happen?

I don’t want to torture myself over it.

Would you consider adopting a child?

Absolutely. I’ve already been accepted to foster, but I put it on hold after what happened to me last year [with the robbery].

Are you still suffering from the trauma of the break-in?

I’ve had post traumatic stress from it – and so did my dogs. Any little noise and we were paranoid. At one point, I was taking loads of sleeping tablets because I couldn’t sleep. I’ve moved now though and I feel so much safer.

You were estranged from your mum when you were 16. Are you close to any other family members?

I speak to my dad and my nan. We’re very close and they don’t live far from me. But, unfortunately, I was still estranged from my mum before she passed away [in 2012], which was another mountain of emotions I probably haven’t dealt with.

You had a tough upbringing, living in hostels from 16 and becoming caught up in gang culture. How does it feel to have turned your life around?

I take great joy in my story inspiring others.

It’s cathartic because maybe that’s why I went through it – to help other people.

Speaking of success, congratulations on opening your new nightclub!

Thank you. It’s very exciting. It’s made me feel alive!

What’s your social life like these days?

I’ll go out if it’s a special occasion, but I like chilling at home with my friends, having bottles of wine. I used to go out like six times a week. I don’t know how I don’t look 80 or have the liver of a 95-year-old.
