A royal insider claims Meghan has failed to invite Kate to her upcoming birthday bash
Rumours of a rift between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge have been rife for months – and new! can reveal things have escalated between the sisters-in-law as we’ve been told Meghan has snubbed Kate from her upcoming birthday bash.
As Meghan prepares to celebrate turning 38 on 4 August, a royal source has revealed she’s yet to invite Kate, 37, to her party. And that hasn’t gone down well behind closed doors.
The pair, who were spotted looking disgruntled last week as they attended a charity polo match, are said to be on bad terms after a series of petty spats.
“Kate was really upset when she found out she hasn’t been invited to Meghan’s celebrations,” our mole explained. “Despite everything that’s happened between them, she never thought Meghan would snub her.”
Although it’s the Duke of Sussex who is organising his wife’s lavish party, which is
said to be costing around £50,000, our insider says Kate has been left “ostracised” by Meghan.
“She had invited Meghan and Harry to William’s recent birthday dinner and would never have dreamt of leaving them out despite the tensions between them,” our source continued.
“While Harry’s arranged the bash, Kate believes Meghan was behind the snub and has expressed her disappointment over Harry allowing her to push him around.”
Reports of tension between the duchesses first began in November last year when it was revealed that Meghan and Harry, 34, were moving out of Kensington Palace – where they lived next door to Kate and
Wills – and into their new home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Meghan also reportedly left Kate in tears with her strict demands over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress for her wedding in May last year.
And our source says that Kate believes the latest drama could only make matters worse.
“Kate thinks it’s going to add yet more fuel to the fire if they don’t end up attending her bash,” our insider continued. “She’s told pals she feels ostracised for no reason when all she’s ever tried to do is befriend Meghan.
“Kate has said while she’ll be civil to them at official functions, but it’s a very sad situation for all of them.”
