Guest list girls
The Lion King world premiere, dolby Theatre, Los angeles
It’s been almost three years since Beyoncé walked a red carpet, but her show-stopping entrance with daughter Blue Ivy at the premiere of the live-action remake of Disney’s The Lion King was definitely worth the wait.
The singer, who provides the voice of adult Nala in the film, dazzled in a floor-length, crystaladorned Alexander Mcqueen tuxedo dress at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. And seven-yearold Blue Ivy looked just as glam in a matching black outfit. But it wasn’t just the girls’ bling that caught our eye. We spied Bey affectionately touching her belly – tum-thing to tell us, perhaps?
Other A-list attendees included Bey’s former
Destiny’s Child bandmates
Michelle
Williams and Kelly
Rowland, sending fans wild. Donald
Glover and Seth Rogen, who voice adult Simba and warthog Pumbaa respectively, Jamie Foxx, Meghan Trainor and Tiffany Haddish also walked the red carpet.
Last week, Bey released her new track, Spirit, which appears in the film and on her Lion Kinginspired album
The Gift, released on 19 July.
She said, “I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres. It is influenced by everything from R’N’B to hip-hop and Afrobeat.”
The star added, “It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers.”
We can’t wait to hear it!
