Former Love Island star Eyal Booker opens up about his girlfriend’s famous family

- GEORGIA TREVITT

He may not have met The One during his stint on Love Island last year, but Eyal Booker has since found love with American model Delilah Belle Hamlin – the daughter of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna and actor Harry Hamlin.

And things are going really well for the couple, with Eyal exclusively telling us he’s “definitely in love”.

The pair got together in April after Delilah, 21, slid into Eyal’s

DMS on

Instagram. “Her sister told her to watch me on Love

Island because she thought we would get on. So she did,” he reveals.

Here, the 24-year-old talks about the highs and lows of having a long-distance romance and says he’s up for filming with Delilah’s mum…

Hi Eyal! You seem loved-up…

Yeah, things are going really well. Everything is heading in the right direction and it’s really exciting. I’m very happy.

That’s good to hear! Is a long-distance relationship hard to maintain?

It is difficult and the time-zone difference is quite hard, but you have to get on with it. When we’re together it’s irrelevant. We’re making it work.

How often do you see Delilah?

Quite often. I go to America for work a lot, so I’ve been able to see her then and she comes here for work, too. The longest we’ve been without seeing each other is five weeks and I found that hard. But usually it’s two weeks max. We also Facetime every day. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder!

What do you like the most about her?

Her confidence. And just the fact that I can fully be myself when I’m around her. It’s just easy and we have a connection that I haven’t found with someone before.

Is she The One?

It’s too early to say, but I’m definitely in love and enjoying it.

Can you see yourself having marriage and babies with her?

I’m not ready for that yet, but who knows? I don’t want to put any pressure on it, but I’m very happy.

Do you get on with her parents?

Yeah. They are lovely, downto-earth people. And they seem to like me, which is always nice! We recently went away together to Canada, which was great.

Were you nervous about meeting them at first?

Not really because I didn’t really know who they were. It was only after I met them I found out, so I didn’t have the nerves. I’m quite naive about things like that, but I guess it worked in my favour.

Would you be up for filming scenes for

RHOBH?

If Lisa wanted me in a scene, I’d be in it for her.

What about other shows?

I’d love to do I’m A Celeb –I love being in nature.

And I’d love to do SAS: Who Dares Wins.

What do you think of there being two series of

Love Island

next year?

I think it could either be a good thing or it could be overkill. People get very invested in the show and if they do two series I think that might take away some of the hype.

You’ve teamed up with Jeans For Genes Day. Tell us about your work with the campaign…

I modelled for the campaign this year and it’s an amazing charity. Genetic disorders affect lots of young children and it’s something we should all know more about. When the charity approached me, it felt right to get involved. Jeans For Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK. You can buy Eyal’s T-shirt at jeansforgenesday.org/shop
