Maura Higgins opens up about her relationship

-

They’ve been an item for just over two months and things are going well for Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard. “We have a laugh,” Maura tells us when we bump into the couple at Tommy Fury’s boohooman launch.

While Curtis chats to some pals at the dinner table, Maura, 28, updates us on her post-villa life. She recently cancelled a PA because she was feeling “rundown” as a result of her hectic work schedule – but she tells us she’s now feeling much better.

“You’re not used to this life,” she explains. “I was working so much I felt like I needed a break. You know your own body. You can’t just power through.”

Here, Maura, who is This Morning’s new agony aunt, talks about her relationship with Curtis, being body confident and what she learnt about herself during her stint on Love Island…

Hi Maura! How are things going with Curtis?

Really good! We bounce off each other and have a laugh.

You live in Ireland. How does the distance affect your relationship?

We see each other all the time. There was a rumour we’d parted ways, but it’s because we don’t put everything on social media.

It’s our own business. But it’s going really well. It’s important we make time to see each other and that’s what we’re doing. What do you like most about him?

Everything! He’s kind and caring. He’s just a great guy all over.

Have you had an argument since you’ve come out the villa?

Not one!

Can you see yourself moving in with him?

Yeah, definitely, but it’s very early days. The last thing I want to do is rush into anything. I like the way things are going.

Have you spoken about marriage and kids?

We haven’t talked about anything like that. We’re just enjoying it.

Would you like to settle down, though?

Definitely. I’ve had a nine-year relationship and a two and a half-year relationship. I’ve always been in relationships.

Do you feel under pressure to make it work?

No, because I really don’t care what other people think.

What has the public reaction to you been like?

Everyone’s been so nice.

Congrats on your This Morning

gig! Have you always dreamed of being a presenter?

It’s a lot of people’s dream, but I never thought I could get something like that. It still doesn’t feel real.

And you’re a Boohoo ambassador now too...

I’ve loved Boohoo for years, so it’s a dream come true.

Who’s your fashion icon?

I love Michelle Keegan’s style – blazers and suits.
