Coleen’s ‘never felt so alone’
Exasperated WAG Coleen Rooney is facing a difficult festive period with Wayne
No one’s counting down the hours until 2020 more than Coleen Rooney. But although she previously seemed eager to settle back into UK life, an insider has told new the stressed WAG is feeling lower than ever.
Coleen moved home to Cheshire with sons Kai, 10, Klay, six, Kit, three, and Cass, 22 months, after a stint living in the US while her footballer hubby Wayne played for DC United in Washington. But we’re told that while the family is finally back together this side of the pond, it hasn’t been the fresh start Coleen had hoped for.
“Coleen’s dreading Christmas and has told pals she’s never felt so alone, despite them all being back home in the UK,” our source claimed. “She’s still harbouring so much anger and resentment towards Wayne and is finding it increasingly difficult to put on a smile and pretend everything’s OK. Inside she feels lonelier than ever.”
It’s no secret that 2019 has been a year filled with humiliation for Coleen at the hands of her husband. From Wayne being arrested for public intoxication and him allegedly stripping off in a hot tub with three women on a night out in Vancouver (he denied anything inappropriate had happened) to his 10-hour booze bender with a barmaid in Florida, the footballer hasn’t been on his best behaviour.
And, of course, Coleen’s war with Rebekah Vardy – in which she accused someone using her fellow WAG’S Instagram account of leaking stories about her – has added to Col’s woes.
“While she’s making a huge effort to ensure this Christmas is magical for the children, deep down she feels like there’s only so much longer she can put on a front,” our mole claimed. “She says she and Wayne barely have any common ground any longer.”
As we reported last week, Coleen, 33, slapped a booze ban on Wayne, 34, in the hope it would curb any potential wild nights out with his new teammates. But our source said she fears she hasn’t gone far enough to stop history repeating itself.
“Coleen often wishes he’d just retire so he can spend time with the family and try to rebuild their relationship to get things back to where they were,” our source concluded.
“She wants their marriage to work more than anything, but she needs to see him make real changes and prove his love for her.”
