The RHOCH star is kicking her bad habits to help relieve her anxiety
Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley has revealed she’s cut back on alcohol in a bid to help relieve her anxiety.
Speaking on The Hot Mess Mums Club podcast, Tanya told hosts Jenny Powell and Kelly Pegg she realised she was drinking too much while filming the reality show and that it would leave her feeling on edge.
“I was getting to the stage working on Housewives where we always had a prop – even just one glass a day while you’re filming – and I thought, ‘This is too much,’” she explained.
“I used to just be like a human bin. I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll have a Jägerbomb.’ But it gives me bad anxiety.”
The 39-year-old revealed she once even forgot what she’d said to her co-stars until seeing the show on air, so she now only drinks once a week.
“I remember being in an argument and saying, ‘I never said that.’ And I’d put my house on the fact I hadn’t said it, calling them liars and everything. Then I’d watch it back and be like, ‘Oh my God, I did say that. Wow,’” she admitted. “But now I’m not as argumentative and I actually make sense.” Tanya, who has three sons – Rocco, 11,
Renz, six, and Ralphi, three – with her hubby, Burnley footballer Phil, 34, also opened up about how she managed to go from being a struggling single mum to a glamorous WAG.
She revealed that shortly after giving birth to her daughter Gabriella in 2002, she struggled to make ends meet.
“I was a single mum and had no money,” she said. “I worked in a call centre and I was a cleaner. I remember crying on Gabriella’s second birthday because I couldn’t afford to buy her any presents.”
However, she soon found a way to turn her fortunes around.
“I discovered the power of positive thinking and visualising and vision boards and gratitude. It took about two years but my life just transformed,” she said. “That’s my passion now – trying to teach others. Especially single mums – just taking them back to the basics on how to change their life around.”
