As Coleen Rooney reportedly sacks her legal team, her hubby is said to be worried about the effect the case will have on his other half
Coleen Rooney broke the internet last year when she sensationally accused Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account of leaking stories on her, a scandal that has resulted in a costly ongoing legal battle between the former pals.
And now, as reports claim Coleen, 34, has sacked her legal team after being warned her case isn’t as watertight as she first hoped, a source has told her hubby Wayne, also 34, is concerned about how this will impact the mum of four.
“The strain of this drama and the legal proceedings over the past few months have taken their toll on all of them and Wayne is worried about Coleen amid all of this,” revealed our insider.
Becky, 38 – who is married to footballer Jamie Vardy – has allegedly threatened to sue Coleen for libel while Coleen is reportedly countersuing for breach of privacy.
However, last week it was claimed Coleen had been told her case against Becky was missing a key detail.
The insider told a newspaper, “When Coleen posted her infamous Wagatha Christie allegations, she thought it was a total certainty she was in the right. But now she’s been told she

may have made some mistakes along the way.”
So it’s no surprise our source has told new Wayne would rather his other half forget the whole thing.
“Wayne’s been trying to gently persuade Coleen to drop the case for some time because of the stress and upset it’s been causing her, but after the latest development he’s urged her to back down,” revealed our mole.
But despite the latest setback, it’s also reported Coleen is determined to continue with the case, with one source claiming, “Coleen still won’t back down – and now she’s decided who to hold responsible, she is planning to fork out big time and hire a very expensive London legal team who are specialists in media and privacy work. She’ll do anything in her power to salvage things.”
However, while Wayne is backing his wife – who is mother to his four children, Kai, 10, Klay, seven, Kit, four, and two-year-old Cass – we’re told he’s also keen to protect her from future hurt.
“While of course Wayne fully supports her and understands her plight and need to seek the truth and prove herself right, he also worries about it all backfiring for no fault of her own and the effect it could have on their family as a whole,” continued our insider.
“Wayne vowed to back her whatever she decides to do, and said that while he was just trying to protect her from more stress and heartache, he’ll stick by her at whatever cost, given how important it is to her.”
Coleen ignited her fiery feud with Rebekah last October, when she revealed she’d planted fake stories on her Instagram account to see if they would be leaked to the papers. When they were, she pointed the finger at Rebekah’s account.
Rebekah, who was pregnant with her fifth child, daughter Olivia, now five months, and on holiday in Dubai at the time, immediately fired back with a strenuous denial, saying, “I liked you a lot Coleen & I’m so upset you’ve chosen to do this, especially when I’m pregnant.”
Blimey, we can’t see these two calling a truce any time soon.
