Katie Price opens up to new about family life as she celebrates son Junior’s 15th birthday

- GEORGIA TREVITT

Mum-of-five Katie Price always has her hands full, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. “It’s a madhouse!” she says as she invites new to son Junior’s 15th birthday bash.

“I love stress, but it’s a good stress. I’m just like one of the kids, really. They boss me about – it’s not the other way around.”

Katie threw Junior a small party at home to celebrate his special day alongside her other children Harvey, 18, Princess, 12, Jett, six, and Bunny, five. Although they were restricted due to lockdown, she surprised him by decorating the house with balloons.

“That’s sweet,” Junior says as he cuddles his mum. Harvey also played him Happy Birthday on the piano, with Junior adding, “That was amazing! I’m really happy.”

Katie tells us she’s proud of the young man Junior has grown into, saying she and dad Peter Andre have done a great job of raising him. The former glamour model admits that Pete is the stricter parent – and tells us she’s now able to have a laugh with her ex-husband and his wife Emily.

Sadly, things are still sour between Katie and her former fiancé Kris Boyson. They split up in December before she checked into the Priory, but she tells us she stayed in touch with the PT, who is now in a relationship with model

Bianca Gascoigne.

Things came to a head last week after Katie publicly shared a reading from her psychic Tracey, who predicted Kris wasn’t over their relationship – and Katie then decided to confront him face to face.

Here, Katie, 42, opens up about her busy life with the kids, healing her relationship with Pete, which male celebs she has her eye on and wanting more children…

Hi Katie! Did you enjoy Junior’s birthday?

I wanted him to have all his friends over, but obviously you can’t because of social distancing. So he just had me and the kids and that was it. It was good. I put balloons up and gave him his presents.

What did you get him?

I filmed it all for Youtube, so you’ll have to tune in. But he was shocked at his presents. He says, “Mum, you’re so random but you always get the best presents.” I think I do well with presents, but the older they get, the more expensive things are. I’m way more organised now.

In what way?

I thought, “Right, I’m going to go online and get Junior a card.” So I got all the photos to go on the front and wrote the words I wanted it to say. But when it

arrived it said Happy Birthday Molly on the front and inside it said what I wanted, which was, “Happy birthday to my baby boy on his 15th.” I don’t know where Happy Birthday Molly came from! Only I could do that. The kids say I’m bonkers, but in a good way.

How would you describe Junior?

He’s at the age where he’s taller than me and his voice is changing. He’s turning into a man. I seem to embarrass him with everything I do. He’s always like, “Mum, you’re so embarrassing!” I’m like, “What are you on about, Junior?” But we do have a laugh. He picks on Princess when they’re play fighting, and he does it with me too. He always wants to try to pick me up and tickle me. I love it when we all sit down and watch movies and cuddle up together. They’re still my babies.

Is he a well-behaved teenager?

He’s really good. I couldn’t ask for a better son. Me and Pete have done a great job.

Does Junior ever talk to you about girls?

He does. He always says, “I’m never bringing a girl over here because you’ll embarrass me!” And, “I’m not bringing my friends round.” However, all his friends say I’m a cool mum.

‘PRINCESS AND BUNNY TAKE AFTER ME MOST’

Who do you think Junior takes after more, you or Pete?

I think Princess looks like Pete and my mum and I think Junior looks like me. If you look at old pictures, Junior really looks like me. He’s very much like me too. When I see Pete, he says, “You’re so bonkers and mad.” I’m like, “You know what I’m like, Pete!” I think he forgets.

Pete commented on your Instagram post for Junior’s birthday saying you are friends now…

It’s taken bloody time! Jesus. I do like Emily as well. We’re like chalk and cheese, we’re completely and utterly different! So when I go to Pete’s, I think he thinks I’m lively. I’m like, “You were with me for six years, Pete! You know what I’m like. You were actually the same. You’re nuts as well.” But I say to him, “You’re getting old now!” It’s funny. We have a laugh.

Who’s the stricter parent?

Pete. I’m not the strict parent at all. I know the kids act different when they’re with me than with their dads because they’re more strict. When they come to me they think it’s like a holiday camp. I’m so easy-going. The kids make a mess and I just clear it up. At the end of the day, I want the kids to be kids – they have the rest of their lives to be grown-ups!

Was it nice to have all five kids together on Junior’s birthday?

I think people think I don’t see my kids. I split my kids 50/50 with their dads. It’s only because it’s lockdown that it works better that Kieran has Jett and Bunny Monday to Friday because he homeschools them. I have them every weekend, which sucks, I hate it. But I haven’t really got a choice at the minute. Whereas Junior and Princess do schoolwork from their dad’s and mine because I’m only eight minutes from Pete’s house. I have Harvey full time

– it’s a family joint effort.

Who takes after you the most?

Princess and Bunny, without a doubt. In every way. Even the way they try to pose, and their love of make-up and the clothes – they are just like mini-mes. We’re all

doing our Youtube channels at the minute. Bunny has been filming for her own channel, where she’ll be talking about whatever toys she’s got. She’s such a character. And Princess is starting one. She’ll be doing make-up and loads of people send her gifts to open, so she’ll be opening products and things like that. Harvey has started his too, we’re just waiting to launch it.

And they do it all on their own. They don’t have me prompting them. I think Junior is going to do it as well. The only shy one is Jett. He’s painfully shy, but it makes him all the more special. He’ll be a doctor or scientist – a real thinker!

What do you think the kids will do when they’re older?

I think entertainment for both Junior and Princess. Youtube is the way forward for them. They’re natural with the camera and with Youtube. It’s in the safety of your own home, they’re not pushed, they can do what they like. My wish for all of my children is to follow their hearts and find a job that makes them happy. I don’t care what profession they choose, it’s about doing what makes them happy. I will back them all the way.

Junior already has a big following on Instagram. Do you worry about that side of things?

Yes and no – I worry like any mum does of a 15-year-old. He’s old enough and wise enough – so he thinks – but he is still only 15. I do my best to give good advice, guide them and be there for them to talk to. Junior can handle himself, though. He’s very polite and a real little gentleman. I am very proud of the young man he has become.

How would you feel about him doing a show like Love Island when he’s older?

He’d love to do Love Island, but when he’s old enough!

Were you mischievous as a teenager?

I was just into my horses and outdoors and nature. I was a tomboy. From the age of seven I’ve always been with my horses. I think the kids are going to follow in my footsteps. They love being outdoors, too.

Would you like any more children?

I definitely will, but not yet.

I don’t want to rush into anything – meet a man, have a baby… No, my mindset is very different now, but I will when the time is right.

How would the kids feel about another sibling?

They would love another brother or sister, but they can wait. I have enough going on to be even thinking along those lines!

Do you have a celebrity crush?

Do I say or don’t I say?!

Go on!

I think James Lock is fit. And I think Jack Fincham is fit. I’ve met them both, but no one’s flirted with me. Dan Osborne is fit, but he’s taken.

So you like an Essex boy?

I do! I think it’s when they’re like, “Hello, darling!” and “Hello, sweet cheeks!” Oh, and I still think Chris Hughes is fit.

He’s single again…

No, I’m happy sticking with being single, happy to window shop for now. The next relationship I want to be a keeper, no rushing into anything again. Just fun and a bit of flirting for now.

Do you have a lot of celebrities sliding into your DMS?

I do have a lot of people in them, especially now I’m single and ready to mingle.

Anyone interesting you can tell us about?

No!

Fair enough! What would you do if your kids didn’t approve of a boyfriend?

They’re like, “Mum, you need to go out with someone older next time.” I’m respectful of my kids. I don’t just bring any guys home to meet them. My head is on straight again now – there won’t be any more of those pictures of me out on drunken nights making a fool of myself. If any of the people I was with before met me now, they wouldn’t recognise me, the person I am now, today. I am back in the room and on a mission to work and help others. I have learnt so much about myself. I want to share my journey in helping others who are where I was, to help them to get their lives back, as

I am doing.

You posted about having a very accurate reading from your psychic Tracey. How was that?

I’ve been seeing her and everything she’s been saying to me the past few months, and even from last year, is all coming true. She is spot on. She’s so good and accurate, I can’t believe it.

Have there been any interesting revelations?

Well, the Kris and Bianca thing. I know Bianca, we were friends. Next thing I know she’s seeing Kris. Although me and Kris split in December, I stayed in contact with him the whole time. The last time I saw Kris, and I’ve got the Priory badge to prove it, was on 29 February. I found out three days later he was at an event with Bianca in Essex and he’s been with her since. He told me he wasn’t seeing anyone and was single – we’d talked about getting married, babies, starting again.

In my opinion these were false promises. He’s been calling my close friends… There are a lot of mixed messages.

Really?

I’ve blocked him on my phone and he’s blocked me, but he continues messaging my friends to pass messages on to me! When I put up on Instagram what the psychic told me he went mad about it, so I went round to his house and confronted him. I’d had enough!

What happened?

I turned up unexpectedly and

Kris played it all down. It was like

talking to a complete stranger. I would like to meet up with Bianca and have a chat. I know what’s what and won’t have my mind played with any more. I am so much stronger now. I walked away from all this, from the people who try to undo the good in you. I wish him every happiness. No regrets.

How do you feel about Kris after all of this?

When I saw him, I thought, “You’re still this angry, nasty person.” I’m done with that now. I feel all along he’s been playing with my emotions.

You have a lot of content for a new book…

Don’t you worry about that! My last book ended on my vows to Kieran, so I can’t wait to do another one.

Should anyone be worried?!

There are lots of people who need to fear this book!

You previously told us we can expect round two of the Pricey Empire. How’s it coming along?

Very well, thank you. I’m doing my equestrian range with a polo fashion sideline – new lines in underwear, pyjamas and nightwear. And there are beauty products – a Pricey must – with hair extensions that are userfriendly, so they don’t break your own hair, and an amazing nail range. I still have my heart set on opening my own salons. All in good time, though, Rome wasn’t built in a day! And books – not just the next chapter, but a book that will help others, possibly a self-help book, are all in the pipeline. Busy times.

Do you have any more TV aspirations?

My Crazy Life has been on hold

‘I CAN’T WAIT TO DO ANOTHER BOOK – LOTS OF PEOPLE NEED TO FEAR THIS ONE!’

because of lockdown and I can’t wait to start filming when it’s safe to do so. I’d also like my own chat show and I’d love to be invited back on the panel of Loose Women. At present I am loving filming for my Youtube channel and I made my acting debut when I filmed the first of two adverts for Bingo Blitz. I had such a giggle doing it, showing my comical side. I am always the first to poke fun at myself. After all, laughter is the best medicine!
