It was one of the hottest tickets of recent years and begs the question – did anyone actually manage to get a seat at the theatre for Hamilton? The hype was very real and stayed that way until Covid-19 forced us all indoors.

Now, the filmed version of Lin-manuel Miranda’s musical about the life and times of US founding father Alexander Hamilton will be available to watch on Disney+, meaning we can all have a front row seat to the spectacle.

The “cinematic stage performance” was filmed in 2016 during the original Broadway production of the show, which happens to have won 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy, an Olivier and a Pulitzer, no less.

So sit back, enjoy and pretend you’re in the West End for the night, in the hope that one day soon we’ll be back there again for real.
