The Loose Women star has blasted trolls on social media

- Hamaiz Iqbal

She has thousands of adoring fans, but despite being loved by many, Stacey Solomon isn’t immune from receiving nasty comments on social media.

The 30-year-old took to Instagram last week to explain her frustration over the trolling and admitted she was finding it difficult not to let the negativity get to her.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, Stacey wrote, “Having a strange morning this morning. Some days I just wake up on the wrong side of my brain. I always do my best to ignore nastyness because deep down I feel sorry for people who want to hurt others or try to bring them down. I feel awful for how sad they must be deep down. But some days it’s not so easy to ignore and the nastyness gets in. All part of being human I suppose.”

The former X Factor star, who is mum to Zachary, 12, Leighton, eight, and Rex, one, regularly takes breaks from her phone each week and decided it was the right time to put it away.

“Anyway I’m going to put my phone in the drawer again today and shake it off,” she explained in her honest post.

Stacey concluded her message by sharing a positive quote that she said she will be repeating to herself. “We rise by lifting others & dulling someone else’s sparkle will NEVER brighten their own. The truth of what’s on the inside will always show on the outside.”

And now TV psychologist and mental health expert Dr Arthur Cassidy has told that taking a regular break from social media has huge benefits.

“We are having to cope with unwanted social behaviours,” Dr Arthur explained. “To detox for one day a week will help Stacey and anyone in an incredibly profound way because it lessens the degree of social anxiety.”

He added, “It will improve her self-esteem and improve her self-health.”

And having 24 hours away from her phone seemed to do the trick, as the next day Stacey was keen to reassure her followers she was feeling much happier.

“Reading through your messages and they’re just the best tonic ever,” she wrote.

Stacey then went on to praise her boyfriend, Joe Swash, 38 – who she affectionately calls “Hoe” on Instagram – for giving her better perspective.

She added, “I’m feeling so much better than yesterday thanks to you all (and Hoe). He grabbed me a Maccy D’s and reminded me of who the important people are and also reminded me of how hard and sad some people’s lives must be to be so cruel.”

We’re glad you’re feeling better, Stace!
