Reality star Amy Childs talks surgery regrets and her hopes of joining the TOWIE reunion
Former TOWIE star Amy Childs has spoken openly about her surgery regrets and now the mum of two has admitted she’d be “devastated” if her daughter
Polly, three, wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Chatting to fellow TOWIE star Bobby Norris on his Get Gobby With Bobby Instagram interview series, Amy spoke candidly about her past surgery obsession.
“I was so addicted to having my lips done that sometimes
I was having them done three times in three or four months,” she explained.
She added,“i wanted to look perfect all the time. I always wanted to change myself and I look back now and think I didn’t need to change myself at all.”
The 30-year-old said the turning point came when her mum dished out some tough home truths.
“Mum said to me, ‘Ame, you look like a freak.’ And I thought I’ve got to sort myself out,” she admitted. “I look at Polly now and I think if she ever came to me and said, ‘I want it’, I’d be devastated after what I’ve been through.” Amy, who is also mum to 22-month-old son Ritchie, had her first boob job aged 18, going from a 32A to a 32D. Her second, aged 22, led to her left implant rupturing. She had a corrective operation last June, leaving her with a C-cup. The star also had her famous lip fillers dissolved, only to be told she may have burst a blood vessel on the left side of her lips.
“I could have it dissolved again, but I don’t want to touch my face any more,” she said. Amy says the pressures of finding fame on TOWIE at 19 contributed to her surgery obsession, explaining, “I get 100 messages a week saying, ‘We’ll do your teeth’ or whatever and you think, ‘OK, that might better me.’ But it doesn’t.”
Now older and wiser, she says she’d jump at the chance of returning to the show for the much anticipated TOWIE 10th anniversary special.
“I would love to go back,” she told Bobby. “I’ve got the best memories of TOWIE. I never argued with anyone because I loved everyone – we all got on together. I wish I could relive it.”
