She gave birth just six weeks ago, and already Danielle Armstrong is on a mission to get fit. Working alongside best pal Ferne Mccann, the 32-year-old is taking on a 21-day diet and fitness challenge to kick-start her weight loss and help other new mums feel good about themselves.

During a chat with her BFF on Instagram, Danielle explained, “I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself, but I know that I want to get my body back. I want to feel confident. I want to feel like a yummy mummy.”

Taking to Instagram Stories last week, Danni explained further about her new project with Ferne, 29, and posted her “before” picture ahead of starting the plan on 6 July – six weeks after giving birth to her gorgeous daughter Orla, her first child with her fiancé, construction project manager Tom Edney, 32.

“I think all mums can relate to this. You don’t feel yourself after you’ve had a baby,” Danni told her followers.

“Of course you’ve got to give yourself some time and I haven’t been doing any kind of diet or anything like that, but I did eat a lot throughout my pregnancy and I feel like I want to get healthy now. And hopefully start being able to introduce exercise after my six week check, so this is why I’m starting my challenge on July 6th,” she said.

“I know exactly what I’ve got to do as I did it before. When I first left TOWIE

I lost 21lb following this plan.”

Operation Transformation will see the reality star embark on an eating regime consisting of two shakes a day, a herbal tea, protein snacks and a healthy evening meal. She’ll also be doing live workouts with her PT three times a week.

When we spoke to Danielle last month, two weeks after she gave birth, she told us all about her fitness mission, admitting she struggles with a sweet tooth.

“I can’t wait to start exercising. I’m not putting pressure on myself and I’m going to give myself six weeks to enjoy motherhood and not worry about eating really healthily. I eat healthy anyway, it’s only the odd cravings I was having like bloody doughnuts and chocolate all the time!”

The down-to-earth star, who’s just moved into her five-bedroom dream home in Essex with her new family, told us she wants her fitness overhaul to be as inclusive as possible.

“A lot of reality stars bring out a DVD.

For me, I want to do a transformation, but get everyone to join and do it with me,” she said. “I’ll tell my followers, ‘If you want to join, come and do it with me!’ At least people can go on that journey with me.”

Danni’s quick to add, however, that she doesn’t advocate denying yourself and wants to show fellow new mums that getting back on track is a marathon not a sprint.

“I believe in everything in moderation. I don’t believe in diets, they’re not sustainable. You’re on a diet and then you’ve lost the weight and then you’re going back to what you were doing before. It’s about breaking bad habits,” she told us.

“There’s no pressure. I’m not going to lose all my baby weight in 21 days… but you’ve got to start somewhere,” she explained.

We’re sure you’ll smash it, Danni!
