Travel restrictions haven’t stopped this loved-up pair from enjoying a trip away before their baby daughter arrives
With their baby girl due to arrive next month, Lauren Goodger and her boyfriend Charles Drury decided to get away and enjoy a romantic trip for just the two of them before they become parents.
Venturing to the Cave Hotel near Canterbury, the couple enjoyed delicious meals and spa treatments to fully relax themselves ahead of the big day.
“Lauren and Charles would have loved to have jetted off somewhere sunny for their babymoon but, with all the restrictions, they thought it was better to stay in the UK,” a source new. told “They went to a lovely hotel with spa facilities and it was the perfect way to relax. and they got so lucky with the weather – it felt like they were on holiday somewhere tropical.”
Lauren, 34, and Charles, 23, were only together for a few months when they discovered in late 2020 that they were expecting their first child. and the source added that the trip away was the perfect chance for them to enjoy quality time as a couple before the mayhem of parenthood begins.
The couple escaped to the five-star hotel, where facilities include a hydrotherapy pool and golf course, and a two-night stay costs up to £2,896.
“Charles works a nive-to-five job so the pair don’t get a lot of time together,” the source added. “They know their romance moved very quickly so they wanted to make sure they enjoyed time together just the two of them. They know once their baby girl arrives, life will be chaos in the best possible way. They’re so excited but were so grateful to get that special time together.”
The couple may have raised eyebrows when they revealed they were dating due to their 11-year age gap but, after confirming their baby news, Charles insisted that having a family meant everything to him. “it’s something that happened naturally and we wanted it straightaway,” he said.
While Lauren has been battling anxiety-related panic attacks throughout her pregnancy, sources say Charles has been very supportive. “Charles may be young but he’s got a good head on his shoulders and he’s hugely protective and supportive of Lauren,” the source added. “He made sure during the babymoon that she took it easy and really relaxed. He knows she’s been struggling during the pregnancy so tries to make things as calm as he possibly can.”
