‘Smitten Adele keeping her romance quiet’
The singer is seriously loved-up with partner Rich Paul and thinks privacy will help secure the future she wants with him, say sources
Adele and Rich Paul only met last summer, when their paths crossed on the dance floor at a mutual pal’s party. But their romance appears to be so strong that fans of the Grammy-winning star are already speculating about them being engaged – or having even already tied the knot.
Rumours started swirling after Easy On Me singer Adele flaunted a diamond ring on her engagement finger at the
Brit Awards earlier this month.
But while it’s no surprise the prospect of another wedding has set tongues wagging, sources new have told that the 33-yearold wants to “protect” her romance by keeping it out of the spotlight – as she really does see a bright future with sports agent Rich, 40, and doesn’t want anything to spoil it.
“After flashing her ring, friends think Adele might have got married in secret. But she is staying tight-lipped,” the source told us.
“She wants to keep things private this time around. She’s spoken openly about her ex and written very personal songs, but she wants this relationship to be different.
“She’s learnt from things she’s done wrong in the past and really wants this to work out, so she’s gone to a lot of lengths to keep it secret and private.”
Despite doing what she can to ensure privacy for her and Rich – who represents NBA basketball stars including Lebron James, Ben Simmons and
John Wall – Adele is said to be head over heels in love. “She’s absolutely smitten and she does seriously see a future with him. She adores him,” the source said.
Rich has three children while Adele is a mum to nine-year-old Angelo, who she shares with former husband Simon Konecki.
The singer has previously been very open about her split from 47-year-old Simon, revealing, “It just wasn’t right for me any more. I would have been miserable had I not put myself first.”
However, she proved they are still on good terms when she dedicated her recent
Album of the Year win at the
Brit Awards to him.
“I would like to dedicate this to my son,” she said as she held back tears. “And to Simon, his dad, this album was all of our journeys. And I’m very proud of myself for sticking to my guns.”
Adele was contacted for comment but at the time of going to press she had not replied.
