SPOTLIGHT ON... NO-FREEZE BOTOX FACIAL

-

Zoe tests out WOW Facial’s six-step professional facial with an optional no-freeze Botox booster.

“I’ve been looking for a way to upgrade my usual purifying facial for something a bit more punchy. I’m quite happy with the condition of my skin, but I do find it gets quite greasy, my pores are quite large and fine lines are beginning to settle in some areas on my forehead.

The facial was mostly relaxing, featuring six key stages: cleansing and prepping, a gentle peel, the WOW Fusion booster – mine was a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and Botox (an optional addition) – a soothing LED light, a mask and an SPF and moisturiser application. The booster segment of the facial was a little scratchy, but only about a 2/10 on the pain scale.

The Fusion device, which looks like a stamp with dozens of tiny needles, only superficially punctures the skin, so it’s not like traditional Botox where needles inject deep to freeze the muscles. The tiny pricks only deposit the liquid in the upper skin layers to give a subtle skin-smoothing effect. My clinician also told me that Botox, when applied like this, can help slow down the production of sebum, which should result in my pores shrinking.

Within a week my skin looked like it had been filtered. My pores had shrunk in size and my overall complexion just looked healthier, more plump. Effects last up to 12 weeks before you need to go back for another facial, and honestly, I think I’ll be queuing at the clinic door to get a top-up!”

Book it: From £250 for the WOW Facial, and an additional £150 to add Botox to your booster, at clinics nationwide. Zoe went to Hannah London’s Harley Street clinic (hannahlondon.com).
