For most Love Island contestants, being on the show promises a career change once they’ve left the villa.

The majority of stars swap their daily jobs for a life of fashion deals, make-up promos and even a job presenting on TV if they’re lucky.

But Tanya, a biomedical science student from liverpool, has pledged to return to her scientific field once the show comes to an end, whether she’s found love or otherwise, with plans to work in fertility treatment.

“If Love Island wasn’t there – or even after – I would have continued to finish my degree and then I would have done embryology, which is working in IVF,” she reveals. “So an embryologist working in IVF – helping people have babies. That was the only job I knew I wanted because it’s the most rewarding to me.”

Tanya, 22, adds, “I want to wake up and help somebody.”

Pledging to bring “good vibes and good energy” to the villa this year, confident Tanya also opens up about the skin condition she was born with, which she sees as a way to stand out from her fellow islanders.

“I have vitiligo, which is skin pigmentation,” she explains. “you may not even notice it. It’s on my lip and I have a stripe on my hair. I think it’s quite cute. I don’t care about covering it up, I think it’s a vibe!”

asked what she wants from her next romantic endeavour, she admits she’s ready for things to get “serious” after suffering a “bumpy road” when it comes to dating.

“I was tired of dating and these boys wasting my time,” she explains. “I’m excited to experiment with an unusual way of dating. Usually I have my guard up and have options on the side just to keep myself safe, but I feel like going into the villa I’m just going to let go of all that.”
