‘It wasn’t easy filming my last scenes’
An accident at Take A Vow sees Priya reminded of her traumatic past this week – leading her to take up the offer of a fresh start, as Fiona Wade explains…
Hi, Fiona. This week we see Priya traumatised when a veil catches fire at Take A Vow – does the fire in the maze come flooding back?
It’s hugely triggering. the way she reacts to it – her body and her mind – she freezes and has a breakdown. It’s a major setback as in the last few months she’s felt like her old self again.
Priya later explains her behaviour to the client, Justin – how does she feel when he offers her a job in London?
priya has been running the business for Leyla with no thanks and has been feeling a bit trodden on, so she grabs the opportunity with both hands. there are a lot of memories in the village too, so that does help with her decision.
David isn’t so keen, though – he ends up kidnapping their daughter, Amba…
priya panics as david could be anywhere and their daughter is everything to priya. she wants to call the police, but Jacob and pollard want to protect david because he has already been in trouble with the law recently.

family is a big thing, it wasn’t easy filming my last scenes. But you need to challenge yourself, that’s very important.
What’s been your best memory on Emmerdale?
Just playing this incredible part every day and getting to be so glamorous wearing the amazing costumes! we’ve had so many giggles and laughs.
But I can’t not mention that Emmerdale brought me my husband [actor simon Cotton who played home Farm estate client hugh Bryant back in 2017]. I met him here and that has been the greatest gift!
