Youth politician’s charity livestream raises £375
THE Member of Youth Parliament for North West Hampshire has raised £375 for charity through a livestream interview with his MP.
Dmitrijs Meiksans, aged 14, hosted #TheBig12HourLivestream on June 20 and interviewed MP Kit Malthouse, with money being raised for multiple charities.
These include the British Youth Council, Hampshire Youth Parliament, Unity, Andover Trees United and DMK Worldwide.
Dmitrijs said: “It was an amazing experience to have hosted something like this to raise money for the charities and youth organisations that need it most during this pandemic.
“I want to thank everyone who donated, shared and watched on the day and also would like to thank the inspirational people who came onto the livestream and allowed me to interview them.”
The live stream had more than 700 views with 25 donors contributing £375 for all the charities and youth organisations benefiting.
