National Gallery Coming soon

ONE of the side-effects of November’s Covid lockdown is the temporary closure of the National Gallery’s universall­y-acclaimed exhibition exploring the work of Artemisia Gentilesch­i, running until January 24. A new curator-led on demand film now takes you on an online tour of the exhibition. Viewers can join Letizia Treves, on a 30-minute online tour of this five-star show to hear Artemisia’s amazing story and witness the violence and drama of her best-known paintings. It costs £8 to book and it will be available until the exhibition closes.

THE Philharmon­ia are back at the Royal Festival Hall for the next live stream session, featuring violinist Nicola Benedetti. On Monday, November 30, at 7.30pm, Benedetti plays Beethoven, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, includes the Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 2.

The cast of Aladdin are being tested regularly for coronaviru­s throughout the production using the PocDoc digital Covid19 testing platform which delivers results in 10 minutes.

The cast are tested before rehearsals start allowing them to prepare for the opening night, and staff will continue to be tested right the way through the show run.

Corn Exchange director Katy Griffiths, says: “We have always been working to find a way for our annual pantomime to go ahead safely this year. Alongside all of the creative and practical changes we’ve had to make, partnering with PocDoc has allowed us to take the necessary steps to make sure the cast of this year’s panto can remain safe from coronaviru­s and the show can go on.”
