Vineyard introduces winter Covid-safe dining OutSide

-

THE Vineyard at Stockcross has adapted to the latest coronavirus restrictions by creating an outdoor winter dining area under a giant marquee.

The area, called ‘OutSide’, features a log firepit, barbecue and plenty of heaters to keep people warm.

As West Berkshire is currently in Tier 2, it means it is one of the few places you can meet friends from another household for a meal and a drink.

All tables are two metres apart to ensure social distancing is adhered to and the whole place has been decked out with Christmas decorations and lights to give it a cosy festive feel.

Executive head chef Tom Scade has created a fresh new menu to mark the opening of the venue.

Managing director Andrew McKenzie said: “InsideOut was such a success in the summer we needed to find a way to pivot into something appropriate for winter or our regular guests wouldn’t have forgiven us.

“The fact that OutSide will be one of the very few places in the area where you can share great food and wine with friends, in comfort and within the new lockdown rules, made this even more essential.

“Anyone lucky enough to live close to Newbury will know of The Vineyard’s solid reputation for fantastic food, great wines and good company.

For those who live further away, the hotel has 49 bedrooms, including 32 suites, for you to stay the night.”

OutSide is open from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from noon to 8pm on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.
