Rainbow remembrance of a year in lockdown

-

CHILDREN at a Thatcham school paid a colourful tribute to remember a year of the first national lockdown.

Pupils and staff at Francis Baily Primary School marked the National Day of Reflection on Tuesday, March 23, by creating a rainbow of ribbons on a fence in the school sensory garden.

Each class visited the garden and children and staff had the opportunity to tie a ribbon in remembrance of a family member or to mark the day.

The school said the event provided “an opportunity to reflect, in a sensitive and child-friendly way, on collective loss, celebrate the lives of the special people no longer here, support those who’ve been bereaved and look towards a much brighter future”.
