Beale Park reopens next week
BEALE Park in Lower Basildon is to reopen on Monday, following the relaxation of some pandemic restrictions.
Visitors will be admitted to Beale Park once more from 10am, following a lengthy period of closure, due to lockdown.
Beale Park’s marketing and public relations manager Christine Doyle said: “We are really exciting to be opening.
“Pre-booking is essential, so please go to our website to find the pre-booking system.
“But there are so many new things – new animals, a bouncing pillow, a lynx, some wildcats, some porcupines that turned up just a couple of days ago, and a crocodile. “So it’s a really exciting time, and our animals have missed seeing visitors, so we are really looking forward to welcoming visitors back.”
Other new attractions include Shetland ponies and a West African dwarf crocodile that has been named Neville via a lockdown Facebook poll.
Social distancing is to be observed at all times at Beale Park, and masks must be worn indoors. Initially, only takeaway options will be available from the new on-site café, although the pavilion may be opened to visitors in coming months.
