Council opposes house plan
TADLEY Town Council has strongly objected to a proposal for a new dwelling on Burnham Road.
Deborah Brazil is seeking to build the threebedroom house on land adjoining her property on the road, arguing it would help deliver housing within Basingstoke and Deane.
However, the town council has strongly objected to the application, arguing the proposed development “does not fit with the existing street scene” and “doesn’t contribute to the character and visual amenities of the area”.
The council also said it would be “disappointed to see the loss of open space” and that the proposed fencing around the site would impede visibility on the neighbouring T-junction.
To view the application, go to the borough council’s planning portal and enter the reference 21/00601/FUL.
