October diary for the Athena women’s networking group

THE West Berks Athena Network has four training sessions on the agenda for its October meetings.

Kicking off tomorrow (Friday) in the Hungerford group is guest speaker Rachel Harding, from Harding & Co Legal Services, who will be talking about the importance of wills and lasting powers of attorneys (LPAs) for business owners.

On Thursday, October 14, members and visitors to the Newbury West group will hear from Alex Grist of Exceptione­lCX on how building a strong brand can increase business and long-lasting relationsh­ips.

At the Newbury Central group on October 20, Rachel Spires from Google my Business will be sharing tips and tricks on ensuring a business appears at the top of the Google search page and therefore gets noticed.

The last meeting of the month is Newbury East on October 21.

Visiting speaker Fiona Jones from Numberwork Services will be sharing up-todate advice on preparing for the changes that ‘Making Tax Digital’ will bring.

Athena monthly meetings continue to take place online from noon to 2pm.

The groups have businesswo­men from a diverse range of businesses.

This month Athena is particular­ly interested in welcoming women from the health and fitness, travel, interior design and food and drink sectors.

“The groups are always vibrant, informativ­e and fun,” said regional director Caroline

Snowdon, “whilst at the same time offering a training element to help our members grow their businesses.

“There is so much you can get out of a two-hour meeting.

“I would love to welcome visitors again this month.”
