Woolton Hill cruise to victory over Tornadoes
AFC Hermitage, Paggies Bar and Cottage Inn all win in Premier Division
WOOLTON Hill Argyle secured a second successive victory in the Newbury Sunday League Premier Division as they beat Thatcham Tornadoes 8-1.
Danny Field opened the scoring after 10 minutes when his free-kick floated over the wall and into the bottom corner of the net, with a deflection taking it away from the Tornadoes keeper.
Jordan Sharpe added a second goal for the home side shortly after when he found space in behind and then Harry Monger volleyed a third goal.
In the second half, the goals continued to fall for Woolton Hill as Liam Headd and James Pye got their names on the scoresheet.
Thatcham did pull a goal back, as a shot from distance beat goalkeeper Karl Lewis, but Woolton Hill continued to score.
Sharpe completed his a hattrick for the hosts, while Monger contributed with another goal as they eased to the three points.
Elsewhere, Cottage Inn battled to a 4-3 victory over Diamond.
Jack Stirland and Iggy Ilott both found the back of the net, as did Reece Randall who scored a brace.
Cottage held a 4-0 lead at half-time, but Diamond fought back and almost rescued a point from the game.
Jack Fisher netted a hattrick for Hermitage as they beat Legacy 5-0 at home.
Seth Fowler and an owngoal helped them to a convincing victory that sees them move up to sixth in the table.
In the other league game, Paggies Bar secured a 5-1 victory over Taste of England.
In Division 1, Berkshire Wanderers beat Elm Park Athletic 3-2, but Newbury Bootleggers remain bottom after a 3-1 home defeat to Cold Ash.
