Robbo’s ready for Bromley battle
HUNGERFORD Town manager Danny Robinson has admitted that there is a ‘real vibe’ at the club as they gear up for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie with Bromley.
The Crusaders got back to winning ways in National League South on Tuesday evening as goals from Sol Wanjau-Smith and Jake Evans helped them to a 2-0 win over Braintree Town.
But now, all eyes turn to Saturday as Town host National League outfit Bromley at Bulpit Lane, bidding to reach the first round of the competition for the first time in 42 years.
“We can enjoy the occasion because Bromley are a fantastic side,” said Robinson.
“We went to see them at Weymouth last week and I ad- mire their players.
“I am looking forward to it, it’s why we play football and the FA Cup can give you that little bit of razzmatazz.
“Bromley won’t enjoy coming here, like any club, but we know we have to be at it otherwise we will get beat and the FA Cup run will be over.”
Robinson is hoping for a strong support for the game at Bulpit Lane on Saturday as his side aim to create more
history at the football club.
He said: “The work behind the scenes that the club is doing is bearing fruition because more and more people are coming through the gate.
“We know the best way to get people in is to win games, but the football club at the moment is a great place to be.
“There is a real vibe and a happy camp and it’s why we’ll look forward to Saturday.”
Momentum is building once more at the club and Tuesday’s win over Braintree was crucial for their league form.
Robinson said: “In the first half, we were on the front foot and leading up to Sol’s goal was good football and we don’t get any praise for that.
“We have had a bit of bad
press lately with our game management and how we play, but we have to do things a certain way and defend in a certain way.
“We never get any praise for our footballing side, it’s always about our antics, but the most important thing is the three points.
“We drew at home to Slough, got beaten by Dulwich and then there was the defeat at Dartford.
“We put a good shift in at Datford and that’s why I made some changes for the game because of maybe some fatigue.”
“We still have a game in hand, we’ll have another one after Saturday, and so it is important to beat the teams in and around you.”
