AWE chief executive and managing director Alison Atkinson, who attended the ceremony, said: “We’ve made great strides in our wellbeing offering, and to be recognised as a leader amongst a truly global field is a testament to our teams and our people.

“At AWE we are known to push the boundaries in science and engineering – this area is no different. I couldn’t be prouder.”

AWE’s wellbeing programme is a key element of its Responsible Business approach.

This approach has also seen the development of a mental health strategy that supports the unique needs of the organisation.
