York Nativity
THE village of Aldermaston has put on a Nativity Play in the parish church of St Mary the Virgin since 1957. The play is an adaptation of eight or nine plays from the 400-year-old York Mystery Cycle plays that tell the story of the first Christmas. Lantern procession
THE Festival of Light returns to Newbury in its traditional format on December 12 at 6pm, inviting participants of all ages to walk together with candlelit lanterns illuminating the winter night. Transforming Newbury town centre into a twinkling wonderland, the procession will travel along Northbrook Street before arriving in the Market Place with live music and festive atmosphere.
