Burghfield move to the top after win

BURGHFIELD have moved top of the Thames Valley Premier League after coming from behind to beat Westwood Wanderers 3-1.

The visitors took an early lead that they held until the final 10 minutes, but Adam Telford levelled the scores at 1-1.

Two minutes later, the home side went in front when Teo Atik finished from close range.

The three points were secured with six minutes of the game remaining when Ollie Brown found the back of the net.

The win sees Burghfield lead the division by one point ahead of Finchampst­ead, who have a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Windlesham & Chobham and Mortimer drew 3-3 in a thrilling contest.

Tom Clark, Malick Doumbia and Andrew Clarke all scored for Mortimer as they came away with a point.

In Division 1, Goring United secured an excellent point against league leaders Hurst as they drew 1-1.

Ellis Howard put the visitors ahead, but James Mugford came off the bench to score eight minutes from time and rescue a point for Goring.

Elsewhere, Tadley Calleva Res were 4-1 winners over Holyport Res.

In Division 2, Mortimer Dev drew 3-3 with Datchet with Stefan Allen (2) and Josh Hancock both scoring in the game.

Goring United Res drew 1-1 with Hambleden Res in Division 3, while Pangbourne suffered a 7-3 defeat to Reading City Dev.

In Division 4, Pangbourne Dev lost 3-2 away to AFC Corinthian­s.

Burghclere suffered a 4-1 defeat to Frilsham & Yattendon in Division 2 of the North Berks League.

George Armstrong, Jack Blackmon, Jamie Green and Kai Stubbs-Alleyne all scored for the visitors, while Jack Cripps was on target for Burghclere.

Elsewhere, Kintbury Rangers Dev drew 1-1 with Long Wittenham Athletic Res and Stanfordin-the-Vale beat Lambourn Sports 3-1.

In Division 3, Compton recorded a 3-1 win over Drayton Res.
