Green grants for low carbon solutions

-

GREEN grants to help businesses across the borough improve their energy efficiency or grow their low carbon or environmental company are now available.

The borough council has joined forces with other local authorities in the LoCASE (Low Carbon Across the South and East) programme, which has access to the European Regional Development Fund to provide a free business support programme for small and medium enterprises.

The LoCASE programme aims to help businesses to become more competitive and profitable while protecting the environment and encouraging low carbon solutions.

In addition to promoting energy efficiencies, the project recognises the role that small and medium enterprises play in developing new and innovative sustainable products and green solutions, boosting economic growth and creating jobs across the borough.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s cabinet member for the natural environment and climate improvement Mark Ruffell said: “The funding will not only optimise businesses’ use of resources and support low carbon solutions, but will also improve their performance in terms of resilience, profitability and competitiveness.

“I’d encourage all small and medium businesses across the borough to find out more about the programme which could help us towards our target to make our borough carbon neutral by 2030.”

Funding is available until spring 2023 and businesses can find case studies on businesses who have benefited from the scheme, the eligibility criteria and how to register on the LoCASE website at https://locase.co.uk/
