Tadley win at Wembley

-

TADLEY Calleva bounced back from their midweek defeat at the hands of Windsor to maintain their hopes of a top 10 finish in the Combined Counties League Premier North.

Tadley travelled to Wembley and powered to a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Ben Wright (2) and Brad Neal (2).

Town are on the road again on Saturday with a tough test at third-placed Egham Town.

AFC Aldermaston kept a rare clean sheet in their Division 1 clash against Bedfont & Feltham.

But they couldn’t find the breakthrough themselves and the sides took a point apiece from the 0-0 draw at the Stacatruc Stadium.

Aldermaston will be looking for maximum points from their trip to struggling Bagshot on Saturday.

Charlie Allsop brought up a remarkable landmark for Kintbury Rangers on Saturday.

The striker blasted a hattrick in his side’s 8-0 win over basement side Cricklade Town to take his goal tally for the club to 250.

Rangers always packed too much punch for a battling Cricklade side and the win keeps them in with a chance of promotion.

They had hoped that local rivals Newbury could have done them a favour in midweek, but they went down 2-0 to leaders Swindon Supermarine Development.

Newbury, however, were soon back on song as they came out on top in an entertaining clash with Shrivenham

Development on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, Brad Pagliaroli fired Newbury ahead on 49 minutes.

Shrivenham levelled four minutes later, but Danny Langford restored Newbury’s advantage soon after.

Pagliaroli made it 3-1 in the 76th minute, and although Shrivenham pulled a goal back with two minutes to go, it was too little too late.

Letcombe and Fairford Town Res are locked together in mid-table – and they couldn’t be separated on the pitch either as they battled out a 2-2 draw.

Both sides were missing regular players, and Letcombe lost Jordan Pierce to injury after just 10 minutes.

Fairford went close through Ben Marshall and young Letcombe keeper Corey Lane did well to punch away a dangerous corner as the first half finished goalless.

The game burst into life early in the second half when Fairford skipper Danny Hale climbed highest to head home a cross within a minute of the restart.

The hosts doubled their lead seven minutes later when Shaun Morgan powered in a header from a Hale corner.

Back came Letcombe, and player/manager Joe Blackwell, who had replaced Pierce, reduced the deficit two minutes later with a low shot following a quick throw.

Letcombe continued to press forward and were rewarded 10 minutes from time when Josh Fowler cut in from the right and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
