HUNGERFORD Bookshop has organised another great authors evening.

Two masters of the thriller are getting together for what promises to be a fascinating event in Hungerford on Monday (September 26).

Popular writers Robert Goddard and JS Monroe – the pseudonym of local author Jon Stock – will be talking about the genre and their latest books.

Goddard is a highly entertaining novelist and speaker, who engages readers with his edge-of-seat pace and labyrinthine plots.

In his latest, This is the Night

They Come for You, Supt Taleb is handed a ticking bomb of a case that takes him deep into Algeria’s troubled past and its fraught relationship with France.

He will face a choice he has long sought to avoid, between selfpreservation and doing the right thing.

plot twists. In The Man on Hackpen Hill, aspiring journalist Bella is on work experience at a national newspaper when she receives an anonymous letter, which merely leads her to a government scientist spouting conspiracy theories in the pub.

But then her best friend Erin is found dead in a nearby field... He will be speaking from 7pm, at the Town Hall, followed by Robert Goddard at 7.45pm, with audience questions at 8.30pm.
