Watermill seeks new trustees
THE Watermill is looking for new trustees to join its board, offering an exciting opportunity to support the development of one of the UK’s leading producing theatres.
The Watermill theatre is a registered charity and its board of trustees are responsible for the effective governance of the company.
They work alongside the artistic and executive directors to help support and steer the company’s development, ensuring its long-term sustainability and delivery on its artistic ambitions and business objectives.
Candidates will have a passion for theatre and a willingness to support the executive team in delivering the company’s mission.
Led by artistic director and CEO Paul Hart and executive director Claire Murray, the Bagnor theatre produces an ambitious programme of work which ranges from new writing and musicals to Shakespeare and classic plays.
Its outreach programme connects with people across surrounding rural communities and offers a vibrant range of opportunities for children, young people and adults to explore their own creativity, develop confidence and gain skills.
Claire Murray said: “We are committed to nurturing talent on and off-stage and to welcoming everyone, from every part of our community, to experience and enjoy The Watermill’s work.
“We’re looking for trustees who can bring their knowledge, experience and networks to support us to realise our ambitions, particularly those with experience in finance, fundraising, community engagement and environmental sustainability. “We’re also keen to further diversify the board with the addition of underrepresented voices from the global majority, those who identify as deaf or disabled, young people and people who are from a lower socioeconomic background.”
If you think you would be suited to this voluntary role, you can find a full recruitment pack on The Watermill’s website at watermill. org.uk
The deadline for applications is Monday, October 3, at noon.
