Panto Pay it Forward appeal

-

THE Corn Exchange has launched an appeal to raise funds so that those most in need in the community can enjoy a live performance of its 2022 pantomime Jack & The Beanstalk.

The annual pantomime has become a Christmas institution in Newbury, attended by around 20,000 people each year (pre-Covid).

Because the Corn Exchange “believes passionately that cost should not be a barrier to experiencing the magic of panto”, it is aiming to fund 650 school tickets and 100 adult tickets for those in the community who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Can you help spread the magic of panto? The Corn Exchange is asking audiences and supporters to donate what they can to support its appeal. £11 will buy a school ticket and £25 an adult ticket – every pound and penny donated to the appeal will help.

The Corn Exchange will be working with local partners including schools, social prescribers and third sector organisations to identify those most in need to be recipients of the pay it forwards tickets.

The Panto Pay it Forward appeal will provide a joyful, cultural experience for these young people and adults, as well as supporting the community, artists and practitioners, and organisation as a whole.

Donations can be made at www. cornexchangenew.com/donate or when you book your pantomime tickets.

Jack & the Beanstalk runs at the Corn Exchange from Friday, November 25, to Saturday, December 31.

Written and directed by Newbury favourites Plested Brown and Wilsher and with accessible and adult performances available, this fresh take on the classic tale will be full of fun for all ages.
