Motor racing simulator firm takes pole position
Forrest Motorsport recognised for its customer service and engagement
WALKING on stage to collect an award at this year’s Newbury Weekly News Best in Business event was the culmination of a year-long ambition for Graeme Forrest.
His company – Forrest Motorsport – won the Best Independent Retailer award on the evening.
“That one-minute feeling when you hear your name, you walk to the stage and you collect your award, the walk back to your table – it’s the most intense feeling,” said Mr Forrest.
“I remember very little due to the amount of adrenaline, a whole year of work condensed into one minute was a very intense rush.
“It was worth every second.” The business, which provides racing simulators for recreation and training, home installation services, VR support and has a raceroom at its Newbury store, was recognised
for its customer service and engagement, products and services, and the ability to adapt to consumer trends and growth plans.
Mr Forrest, who was presented with his award by Andrew Watts of headline sponsor Apple Print & Creative, added: “We sponsored the awards last year and financially overreached, the business was
young, and we could not afford the bill. I sat there and watched everyone win and was determined to win in 2024.
“I did everything I thought we needed to be nominated this year, with our work in the local community supporting youth groups and charities.
“It was amazing to sponsor the drinks reception and show off our company this year.
“Last year there was only two of us; this year, we were seven strong.”
Mr Forrest also brought along one of his motion platforms and said it was “fantastic” to host a competition for the faster driver among all the revellers on the night.
The winner was presented with a prize at the end of the awards ceremony.
