Bound in Protest

Newsweek International - - CONTENTS - DARRIN ZAMMIT LUPI

A protester wears handcuffs on his stained hands at a demonstration by volunteers from the migrant rescue vessel Lifeline on September 11. Many of the protesters also wore masks depicting politicians to draw attention to the more than 280 migrants who have drowned in the Mediterranean while rescue ships have been impounded. Italy and France have accused Lifeline of ignoring international rules while carrying out its rescues.
