Sprouts with Buttered Almonds
PREP TIME: 2 MINS COOKING TIME: 15 MINS SERVES: 6
• 600g ready-peeled sprouts, trimmed • 30g butter • 30g flaked almonds • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Put the sprouts into a large saucepan and cover with boiling water. Add a pinch of salt and simmer for 12-15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a frying pan and cook the almonds until pale golden brown. Drain the sprouts well and add the almonds and butter, tossing to coat. Serve.
If you like, season the sprouts with a little freshly grated nutmeg – or have some on hand for those that like it.
