No. 1 Magazine - - HEALTH & BEAUTY -

Not only are fad diets often bad for your health, they’re also bad news for your hair. Trichologist, Sara Allison, tells us what main changes we should all be making this year and why it’s important to understand that dramatically reducing your daily calorie intake will take its toll on your locks. She said: “Inadequate nutrients in the diet can cause itchy, scaly skin on the head, weak hair follicles and even potential hair loss. Due to its expendable nature, a nutritional imbalance will often show up first in the form of excessive hair loss. Hair and scalp problems can arise from either a deficiency or an excess of nutrients in your diet, and in some cases nutrition alone can be the cause of hair loss. Don’t fall for the crash diets that eliminate essential nutrients, minerals and healthy fats!”
