First prize in the prize raffle was won by Susan Downing and the beautifull­y iced Easter cake was won by Ann Nancekivel­l.

Thanks are extended to Jacky Parker and Janette Damms for organising the event and to the large number who came to either take part, or to simply absorb everything that was going on. Bradworthy parish and the surroundin­g area is certainly full of talented people and it was a pleasure to get them all together for this very special event. All proceeds were for the Bradworthy Parish Churchyard Fund.

CONCERT

The Hummingbir­ds Trio are set to perform a charity cream tea concerts in Bradworthy on April 21. The trio often perform at private functions and events so it’s an exciting opportunit­y to be able to get tickets to see them live in concert, locally.

BAPTIST CHURCH

We meet on Sundays at 11am to worship. There is Explorers (Bible story, craft, snacks) for children during part of the service.

Food for the Journey: Thursdays at 7.30pm, starting with coffee and cake. Designed to help and encourage each other on our life’s journey, looking at subjects

from the teaching of Jesus.

Activities in April: Village Café: Thursday, April 18, at 2pm. A group from the Baptist Church will be hosting the village café, raising funds for the Kidney Dialysis Unit in Barnstaple.

Ladies social: Monday, April 29, at 10.30am. If you enjoy the company of other ladies and want to go out for coffee, cake and a chat please contact Rosemarie on 07540 077602. We can provide transport. This month we will be meeting at the Parracombe Café.

SCHOOL

The children returned to school after the Easter holidays on April 16.

PTA

The cake stall held by the PTA at the end of the spring term raised £50.

The PTA is very keen to welcome new members who can help plan and organise fundraisin­g activities to support our school. We are also interested in hearing from volunteers who just wish to help out at events. Everyone welcome!

BABY AND TODDLER GROUP

Every Tuesday, 9.30am to 11.30am, in Bratton Fleming Village Hall, but please check in school holidays as it may not run.

THE THURSDAY CAFE

Bratton Fleming Village Hall is open as a café every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm: teas, coffees, delicious homemade cakes and other bakes and a lovely, friendly and sociable atmosphere.

The next Thursday Café is today, Thursday, April 18, and will be hosted by the Bratton Fleming Baptist Church raising money for the Renal Dialysis Unit in Barnstaple. The Thursday Cafe on April 25 will be hosted by Jacci Gardner’s Bakes. Advance notice is given that there will be NO cafe on Thursday, May 2, as Bratton Fleming Polling Station will be in the village hall.

VILLAGE MARKET

The village market is held on the fourth Saturday of each month. The next market is on Saturday, April 27. The market is held in Bratton Fleming Village Hall from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Entry free. Fresh, locally sourced food and produce, crafts and gifts for sale with freshly cooked breakfast available from the breakfast bar.

COMMUNITY POP-UP PUB

Held on the fourth Saturday of the month in the Bratton Fleming Village Hall with bar, hot food, and live music. The next Pop-Up Pub is on Saturday, April 27, from 6pm.

BRATTON FLEMING VILLAGE SHOP

The village shop is currently working to winter opening hours. The shop is open from 9am to 5pm, except on Thursday and Friday when it stays open until 5.30pm. Sunday opening hours are 9am to noon.
