COL­WYN Bay has of­fi­cially been awarded the Great Bri­tish High Street award for the coastal cat­e­gory.

David Jones MP was joined by Rob Dix, head of Business and En­ter­prise at Conwy Coun­cil, and Teresa Car­nall of Col­wyn Bay Cham­ber of Trade, who ac­cepted the award from Com­mu­ni­ties Min­is­ter Penny Mor­daunt.

The judge who as­sessed Col­wyn Bay’s en­try, Brigid Simmonds, said the town was set­ting a great ex­am­ple.

Teresa Car­nell said: “I do see this as a step­ping stone. It is fan­tas­tic for the peo­ple re­spon­si­ble to be recog­nised for their hard work.
