5p bag charge raises funds for hospice

Broad­way Newsagent, Pen­rhyn Bay have re­cently do­nated £500 which they raised through the sale of 5p bags. From Oc­to­ber 1st 2011, all re­tail­ers in Wales were be re­quired, by law, to charge cus­tomers 5p per ’sin­gle use’ bag and do­nate to a char­ity of their choice. Since the in­cep­tion nearly £35,000 has been raised for St David’s Hospice from lo­cal busi­nesses.
