Can you give these dogs a home?

- BY MARI JONES

RSPCA’S Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre is appealing for homes for their 100 furry residents.

Amongst the gang are dogs called Ruby, Bonzo and Prince, who are patiently waiting for a new owner to come along and whisk them away to start a brand new life.

Ruby, a three-year-old Staffie is a lovely lady, who sadly has been at the centre for over ten months.

She arrived early last year, cold, wet and starved to the point that she looked like a walking skeleton.

Kennel and cattery supervisor at the centre, Chris Butler, said: “It was hard to think how someone could have allowed her to get into such a state and then abandon her on a deserted country lane.

“Ruby has a lot of love to give and absolutely loves human company. “She is an intellig girl who will require an act home with boundaries and guidance to help her to settle in.”

Bonzo has also sadly been stuck in kennels for a long time- one year and counting in fact.

The four-year-old pooch has turned his paws to clicker training since being at Bryn-y-Maen and is excelling at it.

“He would really suit a fa who are looking for a dog th can do some training with because he’d absorb anything you had to teach him in no time,” said Chris.

“He enjoys his daily social sessions with his other canine pals on the field and we think he could potentially live with another dog pending successful introductions at the centre.”

Prince is the elder gentleman of the group, being around ten years old.

He was rescued by the RSPCA after his previous owners neglected him.

But his ordeal hasn’t affected his lovely temperament, and loves playing fetch with his toys. he centre also has several that are looking for new es, including the poshly med Gucci. Gucci is a big cuddly bear of a cat, who is a gentle middle-aged gentleman, who has sadly been returned to the centre after a number of years.

“He has had to endure ental treatment on his urn to us and is now feeling h happier that his mouth is ng better,” said Chris. He has a fabulous silky black coat and will need his new owner to groom him on occasion.”

If you think you can offer any of these animals a new home please get in touch with the Bryn-y-Maen animal centre on 0300 123 0745 or at brynymaen@ rspca.org.uk.

The centre is open between 11am and 4pm everyday, except Wednesdays.
