Junction on a high after weekend win double

-

LLANDUDNO Junction FC had a double reason to rejoice last weekend.

The first team returned to second place in Welsh Alliance Division One after thrashing Kinmel Bay 5-0, while the reserves were also in great form, winning 4-0 at Llanrwst United.

Darren Jones and Joe Morgan’s firsts proved too strong for struggling Kinmel at the Arriva Ground, although they only led 1-0 at half time, Jamie Jones on target.

In the second period the floodgates began to open, Dean Seager and Joel Hewitt making it three before the hour.

Ricky Jones and Bryan Roberts also netted in the latter stages to complete a convincing success.

This Saturday sees the Junction make the trip to Llanrwst United.

Junction’s second team nudged up to third in the Division Three (Reserve) Division with a comfortable triumph at Parc Gwydir.

Joe L Jones set the ball rolling before Andrius Bonkas notched a quickfire pair on 16 and 25 minutes to make it 3-0 at half time.

That was how the score remained until Jordan Dixon grabbed goal number four with a minute left.

It was a fifth straight defeat for the Rwsters who are currently in bottom position with no points.

Neither side are down for a match this weekend, with Blaenau v Glan Conwy the only fixture.
