Mally up for home quarter- final

-

FC MALLY will make the latest defence of their NWCFA Sunday Challenge Cup this weekend when they entertain Victoria Bethesda in a quarter-final at Cae Derw, Llandudno Junction (11am).

The visitors play in the North Gwynedd and Anglesey Sunday League.

Mally player-manager Nathan Watson said: “It’s a massive game for us, but to be honest every game we play between now till end of the season is huge.”

The Junction side will have key goal- getters Mike Lundstrum and Brad Jones out injured, while Sion Watson is also a doubt.

However, boss Watson is confident he has enough quality available to win the tie.

“All the lads have been fantastic this season so far and it’ll still be hard to pick a team with everyone playing well at the moment,” he added.

“We could do with as much support as possible, so please get down to Cae Derw this Sunday to support the local lads trying to retain the cup.”

Mally lifted the cup last season as part of a quadruple, beating Bryngwran Bulls 1-0 in the final.

Another local side, Mountain View Mochdre, face a trip to Anglesey to take on a useful Valley outfit this Sunday.

Quarter-finals: FC Mally v Victoria, North Wales Rhyl v Arriva Bangor, Penbont Celts v Adelphi Vaults, Valley v Mountain View Mochdre.
