Mixed bag for Colwyn

-

COLWYN Bay under-nines were in good form when they travelled to Nant Conwy last weekend.

Two matches were played – one full game, followed by a 10-minute second fixture.

Nant’s much-improved defence made it tough for Bay in the first match.

Hard running was on display from Christian Cheesley and Charlie Williams and well-timed passes sealed these efforts off with tries.

Sam McKinley outflanked the opposition on many an occasion and was rewarded with excellent tries.

Llion Morris also impressed with a few committed runs and a smart pass allowed Matthew Costello to score in the corner.

Colwyn won the first game 30-10 and the second ended 15-15.

Try scorers: Samuel McKinley 3, Ryan Robertson 2, Charlie Williams, Jack Austin, Matthew Costello, Owen Opie.

Colwyn Bay U11s were beaten 50-5 at Nant Conwy.

Nant were much the stronger overall, Bay’s sole try provided by Josh Lynch.

Bay U14s went down 24-7 against Nant.

Colwyn camped in the home half for the first 10 minutes, but the Conwy Valley side held firm.

Nant rallied with two tries before the break and added two more in the second half.

Byron Wilson-Noon notched a converted try for the visitors, whose MoM was Jack Manfredi.
