Dave steps in to cover role

-

A Colwyn Bay man who started out as an apprentice plumber, leaving school with just the one O-Level and a ‘ YTS’ work experience certificate, has been appointed as a Corporate Director with the firm he joined nearly 25 years ago.

Dave Lewis first joined Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, which is now part of the Pennaf Housing Group, in 1991 as an apprentice heating and plumbing engineer and he has recently been appointed as Corporate Director Asset Management with the Group.

He was promoted to Maintenance Coordinator in 2006, before becoming Building Services Manager in March 2013, and earlier this year Dave stepped in to cover the Managing Director’s role at PenAlyn.

As well as gaining front-line and strategic management experience as his career has developed, Dave has also gained a BSc from Liverpool John Moore’s University in Building Maintenance Management, and the NEBOSH Health & Safety Qualification.

Dave said: “I really appreciate how much the company has invested in me and helped me develop over the years, and I’m a great believer in giving people a chance to become the best they can, whether that’s with practical hands-on trade skills, in administration, supervisory or management roles.

“It’s about valuing individuals for who they are, and helping them reach their potential. If together we can become the best that we can, then we’re going to be giving the best service to our customers as well!”
